Privacy Policy

Overview
Debt to the Divine is a personal worship-tracking tool available on the web and as a mobile app. We collect only what is necessary to provide the service. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Information We Collect
- Account information — your name and email address, collected via Clerk (our authentication provider) when you create an account.
- Worship data — the prayer and fasting records you enter, including missed counts, deadlines, and daily progress. This data is stored in our database and is only accessible to you.
- Profile preferences — settings such as madhab, female-specific adjustments, and dark/light mode preference.
- Payment information — if you choose to make a donation, payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store card numbers or banking details. We receive only a record of the transaction (amount, date, and a Stripe-generated identifier).
- Mobile purchase information — if you choose Monthly Support in the iOS app, Apple processes the payment through your Apple ID. RevenueCat receives purchase and entitlement information, such as the product identifier, purchase status, renewal status, and transaction metadata, so we can recognize access and restore purchases. We do not receive or store your Apple payment card details.
- Usage data — basic server logs (request timestamps, response codes) for reliability and debugging. These may be associated with an account when needed to operate or protect the service.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and improve the app
- To authenticate you and protect your account
- To calculate and display your worship progress
- To process voluntary web donations via Stripe
- To process and restore mobile purchases through Apple and RevenueCat
Data Storage and Security
Account data and synced worship records are stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit's infrastructure. Authentication is managed by Clerk. We use HTTPS for data in transit and rely on Apple's and RevenueCat's security controls for mobile purchase processing. We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.
Third-Party Services
- Clerk — handles authentication. Their privacy policy is at clerk.com/privacy.
- Stripe — handles payment processing for donations. Their privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
- Apple — processes App Store purchases and subscription billing through your Apple ID. See Apple's privacy policy.
- RevenueCat — provides mobile purchase infrastructure and subscription status management. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Guest Mode
You may use the app without creating an account. On the web, guest profiles and progress are kept in your browser's local session storage and are not sent to our servers until you choose to create or use an account. In the mobile app, guest data is kept in local device storage. Clearing the browser/app data or uninstalling the mobile app removes that local guest data. Local guest data is not available on another device unless you sign in and complete the account transfer.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
You can delete your account and associated data at any time from the Settings page. This permanently removes your worship records, profile data, and account information from our systems, subject to limited records we may need to retain for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or accounting purposes. Local guest data can be removed by clearing the browser or app storage. You can choose not to provide optional profile notes, use guest mode, or decline notifications. You can also manage or cancel a mobile subscription through Apple's subscription settings; deleting your account or app does not cancel an Apple subscription.
Contact
For privacy-related questions or data requests, use the Settings page to delete your account or email Qada@ihsanworks.org.
This policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. See our Terms of Use.
